Aim higher this year

"The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark." - Michelangelo

Let us start this year with a quote from Michelangelo. This quote is the most accurate depiction of youths in Malaysia. Sometimes youths of our generation set their target goals and the worse is, they actually reach it. For instance, I bet many youths want to score well for their public exam this year. They will work their ass off by not going out or going to 2 or 3 tuition for one subject. Isn't this just pathetic ? I am not saying to achieve academic excellence is unimportant, but academic prowess alone won't land you the 'dream' job. My wish for this year is to see more young people doing things that are really meaningful and could really improve their practical intelligence.

Let us all aim higher and get out of our comfort zone. Just get your hands on tasks that are really out of your comfort zone. For me, that will be speaking in public and writing. At the same time, I am working on my C++ programming and android development. Some of you might think I am crazy, but let me tell you this; If I were to fail, there is no harm at all. Therefore, I urge everyone to start doing things they like.

  1. Good job with the blog Ray. Reading all your articles has been a pleasure. I hope you reach your new year's resolution. To add to that, exams are just a formality, true learning is far more important than having a good grade.May the new years bring a future full of traffic for the blog.
