Push Push Push

I finally understood the true meaning of difficulty and what it means to attempt something really hard. I was at the Kompleks Penyayang to participate in the annual Puzzler's challenge, organized by Mensa Penang Branch. We were supposed to go in pairs.

What happened today ?

1. We had to solve puzzles for 4 hours

2. We met some incredibly talented students in puzzle solving

Lessons learnt.
Sometimes it is really rewarding to do something difficult. The challenge may initially bore you down to the core. However, you will reach a point where the boredom will turn into exhilaration and joy.

I would really thank the organizing committee from Mensa for the great puzzles and rejuvenated my passion for puzzles. For your information, only one team

( Form 5 )  managed to get into the top 10's. I was utterly defeated, yet I enjoy every bit of the process.

Silencer in the Crowd

I've always wondered what the silence sounds like. It's a paradox itself. if you try standing in a empty room with nothing in it, you would hear a "buzz" sounds right? Probably a little high pitch than original. Does that count as a sound?

The silence is quite overbearing and powerful when you think about it. Human beings are in need of constant human social interactions. There are example of torture for individuals where they are locked in an empty room. They are left in there over a period and they actually experience mental breakdowns. they have complete loss of sense of what has happened to the world. That is why I say silence is incomprehensible.

I know a friend who is called the silencer. The nickname came along with his antisocial and ignorant attitude. Despite that people think, I actually admire his patience over the years. How could one stand the silence, it is simply astonishing. Although he might be the quietest person, he also would be the most powerful friend I know. The power of knowledge. At the end, it still boils down to the point that, being silent made him a knowledgeable and powerful man. Hence, sometimes its not just being loud or noisy. At certain times, we would have to be silent for a moment and just think.

What do to when you're sick ?

Nobody likes to get sick, especially during exam season. You know what's worse; all your homework and revisions or projects will get delayed. Nevertheless, you should never to do some serious work if you're sick, it is better to get some rest and recover faster. Let me share with you some of the activities you can do if you fall sick:

1. Rest and enjoy a movie marathon

Pop in the latest movies or series that you have wanted to watch so badly. Now is the time to reward yourself a little and keep yourself motivated when you are sick.

2
.Move around or take a good jog

This might contradict my first advice but a good jog can help to stretch your body and expose yourself to some fresh air. Besides that, sweating will help to release toxins in your body and may just be what you need to recover faster.

3.Do some light reading

Although you can't do any reading or studies because your brain just would not digest all those information, but reading a novel or non-academic related books can actually help ease your boredom. You may be surprised how much you can lean by just spending some time.

4. Reflection

Now is the best time to evaluate your current situation. List down all the projects or to-dos. Access how far away you are from your goal. Just talk to yourself and write down all your thoughts on a piece of paper.

Finally, you can also blog if you want to. Share with us what will you do if you were sick.
